Suggestion: New Specialisation within GM
Reason:
With the recent integration of jugg suits into our LT+ jobs, we've observed a marked improvement in breach effectiveness. The combined coordination of juggsuits and flamers has significantly increased operational cohesion. The Jugg suits, in particular, have proven instrumental in setting and maintaining the pace of the assault during high-intensity breaches.

Given these advancements, we propose the formal creation of a new specialisation within the Galactic Marines, the Siege Legion (SL).

With the Galactic Marines consistently having a high number of active troops, and spec caps being reduced, we want to ensure that there are enough slots for most troopers but also still leaving enough room for there to be competition and ensuring that troopers must be at their best in order to remain in the spec.

The Siege Legion will serve as the vanguard of breach operations, they will be equipped and trained to withstand withering enemy resistance, enabling cleaner, faster, and more decisive breaches.

As part of the proposed development of the Siege Legion, the following progression structure and qualification criteria are outlined to ensure both operational effectiveness and leadership integrity within the unit. The ranks and their limits are as followed:

Siege Legion Trooper (ST) SGT+ Slot: Unlimited
Siege Legion Vanguard (SV) SSG+ Slot: 2
Siege Legion Warden (SW) 2nd LT+ Slot: 2
Siege Legion Commander (SC) 2nd LT+ Slot:1

Total slots for spec: 5

The qualifications are as followed:

ST - Tryout
SV - Adv. Breach, Breach Lead, Breach Certs
SW - Host Qual, Host Tryout

Siege Legion have a nice ring to it.

We currently have a full regement and many troopers are spec less.
If we get this spec which have a big focus on breaches, we will get the means to be even more effective in doing our job.

Again following up on what has already been said Siege Legion would be an amazing addition to the Regiment as a Spec as it would enhance what we do Best BREACHES making the Regiment more self sufficient as a whole and will allow more of the Regiment to be involved within a spec as the other two are currently Full

This suggestion makes a lot of sense and fits perfectly with what GM is built around. We’re a breaching regiment at our core, but one of the biggest issues we consistently run into is survivability during those breaching moments. Right now, the only way we can reliably breach without getting wiped immediately is by relying on external support whether that’s CE squad shields or Jedi saberwalls. And while that works, it’s not sustainable, especially when those units are stretched thin or focused on their own objectives.

Siege Legion is meant to fill that gap. It gives us a dedicated spec that’s trained and equipped to tank frontline damage, hold breach points, and let the rest of the breaching elements operate without getting immediately shut down. Instead of leaning on outside help every time, we’d have our own internal solution one that’s actually tied to training and progression, not just throwing jug suits at whoever’s up front.

It also helps solve the spec cap issue we’re facing. With how full GM is, a lot of troopers and even officers don’t have anywhere to go spec-wise. This gives them something meaningful to work toward while reinforcing a key part of our role as a regiment.

On top of that, it supports the original intent behind breaches they were meant to be a secondary objective during events, not something that required the entire server’s attention. Giving GM the tools and structure to manage breaches more independently means other regs can focus on their main objectives without being pulled into a side task every time a door needs opening.

Overall, it makes us more self-sufficient, improves our execution on breaching, and builds more understanding around how to properly use heavy suits and coordinate in those kinds of situations. If there’s concern about balance, that’s definitely something that can be worked through with the commander but the core idea here fits exactly where GM is headed.
